This year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) will be held on the 24th of May until the 27th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This four-day event will feature diving gear, boating accessories, electronics and most especially, boats like catamarans, sailing yachts and more.
Tickets can be purchased online or during the event and children below 15 can get in for free.
Here are some of the boats that will be launched a thee SCIBS.
Arvor 555 Sportsfish
The 2018 SCIBS will play host to hundreds of boats including the Arvor 555 Sportsfish. The company is known for its trailerable boats and this model is no different. It is considered entry-level and it is 5.5 m in length. There is a fair amount of space in its self-draining cockpit area. It has a platform for forward fishing and a lockable cabin for fishing equipment. It is also easy to drop anchor because of its bow windlass option.
Three people can be accommodated inside the boat. It has a double berth that gives protection for every weather. The cockpit can be converted to a dining area once you attach the removable table. The Sportsfish has an engine from Mercury power and it has a BMT option that can be easily hooked to a sedan when you travel.
Monte Carlo Yachts 76
Sundance Marine, a well-known boat dealer in the country will be introducing the Monte Carlo Yachts 76 (MCY 76) in this year’s SCIBS. It represents the new standard of luxury because of its elegant design and its 23 m flybridge with advanced technical features.
Though it has a commanding presence, it didn’t outshine its functionality and durability.The hull is solid and lightweight and for optimum safety and protection from wear and tear. Kevlar was used in the areas of the boat that take the greatest impact.
The MCY 76 has an automatic trim search with an interceptor that provides comfort and helps maintain the its condition. Its keel structure has a self-supporting sandwich plating, longitudinal reinforcements, and a bow crash box. The boat’s POD propulsion system comes from ZF and it has a multidirectional joystick for precise maneuvering.
Fairline Targa 48 GT
Leigh-Smith Yachts will be showcasing the Fairline Targa 48 GT in this year’s SCIBS. It’s easy to socialize in this boat because it has a lot of space on the upper deck. The cockpit has a J-shaped seating that is convertible to sunbeds. Guests can enjoy the fun indoors and spend the night in its three cabins in the lower deck. However, you have the option to choose a saloon or a dinette instead of a third cabin. It has a high gloss walnut wood finishin the interiors and it is a practical choice that gives the boat an elegant touch.
The Targa 48 GT gets two Volvo Penta IPS engines and its hull was specially modified to accommodate these without affecting the boat’s aesthetics. Apart from Fairline, brands like Alaska Motor Yachts and Hampton Yachts will be displayed along with it.
Hudson Bay 390
This Hudson Bay 390 will be displayed for the first time along with other models from the proudly Australian Clipper Motor Yachts. This boat has a new generation Volvo D4 300 hp shaft drive electronic engine. It is easy to dock and maneuver even at slow speed because it has a bow thruster at the side door of the helm. This boat is equipped with a Garmin 12 inch touch screen GPS plotter with fish finder, chain counter, VHF radio and a 4kva generator to help you save fuel.
You have a choice between a single cabin or dual cabins that can accommodate four people. Air conditioning systems are present in the cabin and saloon areas. Cooking can be done indoors in the galley and outdoors using the Kenyon Electric barbecue grill connected to the galley for easy access. The bathroom consists of a spacious shower stall and a toilet in a separate room.
The Aquilla 48 from Multihull Central is among the models that will be displayed for the first time at the SCIBS. This catamaran has luxurious cabins with ensuite bathrooms and shower stalls. It has a galley with modern appliances all around and is ergonomically designed to allow you to move around without bumping onto surfaces. The boat’s flybridge consists of an entertainment and a dining area complete with a wet bar and a barbecue.
It has windows in the main deck that gives you a panoramic view. It also keeps the cabins well-lit because it allows natural light to get in. From there, you can easily go to the covered seating areas in the aft. The Aquilla 48 has a lifting platform where you can access the dinghy and other water toys. It has a specially designed steering console and a modern navigation equipment. The boat’s engines are two Volvo Penta Diesel 225 HP.
